Lisburn to Belfast

Four big guns at the start of today's last leg.

Nothing to beat a skull in your front window.  Spotted in Canal Street, Lisburn.

We meet Frank Pantridge at Lisburn Council.  Nobody will ever want to remove his statue.
I like the quote beside it:
People can be divided into three groups:
1) Those who make things happen.
2) Those who watch things happen, and
3) Those who wonder what happened.

Pondering Ballyskeagh High Bridge, where they used to hang people.

The Chimney Bridge.  Canal lightermen used to fear the ghost here, Andrew didn't scare Brian very much.

Approaching Belfast at Stranmillis.  Happy memories, I used to run out this path every night after work and often came home in almost total darkness.

On the last mile, we were met by a variety of Brian's clubmates.....

..... It's great to be famous. These people had traveled miles just to have their photo taken with us.

The end at the Big Fish.  The Lagan has been an easy river to run along but well worth the effort.
